Byndoor Police nab 5 involved in throwing pork pieces at Nagoor Masjid premises

Byndoor: Byndoor police on Sunday, arrested five persons who were involved in throwing pork pieces in the premises of Noor Juma masjid situated at Nagoor NH 66 in Byndoor taluk, recently.

The accused are identified as Naveen Kharvi (34), Shridhar Kharvi (35), Raghavendra Kharvi (32), Ravi Chandra and Nagaraj.

It shall be recalled that on 14th January, around 11 PM night, two persons arrived on a two-wheeler and threw a carry bag in the masjid premises in which pig's body parts like ears and legs were found. The incident came to light the next morning when the muazzin of masjid came to call Azan for morning prayer. The entire scene was recorded by the CCTV camera installed in the premises. The case was then filed on the same day at Byndoor police station. 

Following the CCTV footage collected, the police were finally the successful in nabbing the accused behind the crime scene who were trying to spread communal hatred in the region.

The police team under the guidance of Udupi DySP Dinesh Kumar began to probe into the matter and arrested the accused. During interrogation, the accused explained that the plan of raising the situation of tension in the peacful atmosphere was a plan of their companion named Ravi Chandra. 

All accused were produced in the court after interrogation and were then sent to judicial custody.
