Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police have arrested a couple regarding the theft of an ATM card and withdrawal of cash around Rs. 3,59,000 with it on 4th July, Tuesday.
The accused were identified as Fathima(28 yrs) and her husband Selvam(31 yrs), native of Vellore in Tamil Nadu.
The police have recovered Rs. 2,29,000 and a 20 gram gold chain purchased by the stolen amount in their possession.
Police sources say that the accused couple were working in the house of Joyce(70 yrs), a resident of Britto Lane, Falnir. They used to operate ATM card for the old lady and gained knowledge of the PIN etc…
They quit their job few weeks back and stole the ATM card while leaving the house. They have been using it for shopping since then.
A case has been registered at Mangaluru City South Police Station.
