Sirsi: Efforts are on to make the Energy Department people-friendly and various people-friendly programmes would be introduced, said Energy, Kannada & Culture Minister V Sunilkumar.

He was speaking after performing bhumi puja for the construction of 110/11 kv power substation and Mundagod’s Hescom subdivision office building at Kadagod village near Banavasi in Sirsi taluk on Tuesday. 

He said, a total of eleven thousand consumers would be benefited from the 110/11 kv power substation to be constructed at Kadagod near Banavasi. It would also help the farmers in this region. So far, five power transmission banks have been set up in Uttara Kannada district, he added.

He also assured of providing all co-operation for the development of Gudnapur as a tourist spot.  

Labour Minister Shivaram Hebbar said, the power substation would help to resolve the power-related problems being faced by the people of Banavasi region.
