Bhatkal: A protest was held outside the Jali Pattan panchayat office here on 4th April, Tuesday in Bhatkal.

The primary cause for this outburst was that the promises made during election were not being fulfilled by the panchayat president. SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) members held a protest inorder to remind the promises made by panchayat president, while asking for votes during elections.

The SDPI council member Akif Gawai, stated that, no developmental works were done even after years have passed by. “They promised to do all kinds of development works but nothing as such has been done by they so far”, he added.

SDPI Secretary Zaheer was also present at the protest and listed the following issues which were not solved by the Panchayat:

  • A proper road leading to Madeena masjid is yet to be established.

  • The water supply at Jali is not satisfactory and the water is not clean and is not fit for drinking.

  • No arrangements have been made to collect garbage from home to home, as promised.

  • The tax has been increased for no reason, it should reduced.

  • The road used to travel from Bandekan to Jali is spoiled completely, so the new road should construct immediately.

Many members of SDPI Bhatkal unit were present. They have submitted a memorandum demanding to fulfill all the issues which was received by Jali panchayat officer Venktesh.
