Bhatkal: The Bhatkal unit of Popular Front of India staged a protest in front of the Bhatkal police station in order to condemn the arrest of Bengaluru district president of PFI, who was arrested on the murder charges of RSS leader Rudresh in Bengaluru a few days back. A memorandum was presented to the DySp in this regard.

The memorandum stated that, under the pressure of BJP and RSS, the police had unnecessarily arrested the district president of PFI Bengaluru, Mr. Hashim Shareef alleging him of murder, whereas, the murder of RSS leader Rudresh was a matter of personal conflict. Earlier, the PFI was also blamed for being involved with the murder of Munjunath in Shimoga, but the investigations had later revealed that he was murdered by people of his own family. Also, a conspiracy was hatched to involve the PFI with the death of a VHP activist in Madekeri on the occasion of Tippu Jyanthi last year, only to later reveal that his death was a result of a fall due to leg slip.

The memorandum also said that the RSS and the Sangha Parivar had always created a negative atmosphere in the opposition of Popular Front of India, which was involved in the public welfare and social causes. And the arrest of Hashim Shareef was also part of same conspiracy. So the PFI has demanded the police to immediately release their arrested leader and investigate the concerned murder without coming under pressure of any external forces. Also, legal action be taken against the activists of Sangha Parivar who try to turn the direction of investigation and disturb the harmony in the society by their negative influence. The members of PFI along with the local authorities were present on the occasion.
