Dubai: Consisting of players from Bhatkal and surrounding areas, eight teams have selected 128 players based on maximum points through an auction for the AUZ T-20 cricket tournament to be held in Dubai from October 26. It should be noted that 225 players residing in various cities and locations in the Arab Emirates registered their names for this tournament.
Hayat Sheikh and Abul Hasan proved to be the most expensive players of the tournament, each being picked at 155 points. Hayat Sheikh, who is considered the best player of the Murdeshwar Alwafa Sports Center, was selected by the Nawayat Arabian team, while Abul Hasan, the top player of the Royal Sports Center—one of the strong teams from Bhatkal—was selected by Hanif Warriors.
Similarly, Golte Sports added Safwan Shanu to their team for 125 points, while AUZ Challengers acquired Ismail Mohtesham for their team by offering 115 points.
Four other teams also selected their players:
- Seedar, Abu Dhabi selected Syed Afzan for 100 points.
- Fab 11 picked Ikrama Furqan Motiya for 95 points.
- Square Riders added Mohammed Talha for 85 points.
- Nawayat Cricketers Dubai added Mohammed Rasikh to their team for 80 points.
The auction of the players took place at Hotel Radisson Blu. The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Rawaim Barmawar, while Razeem Mohtisham delivered the welcome speech. An introduction to the AUZ T-20 cricket tournament was provided by Abdul Muqsit MJ, and the program was hosted by Sameer Hindustani.
Present as guests were the Secretary General of the Bhatkal Muslim Gulf Council, Atiqur Rahman Muniri, President of BMJD Shahriyar Khatib, General Secretary Jailani Mohtasim, and others.
During the player auction, all eight teams were represented, including AUZ Challengers owner Abdul Badi Muniri, icon player Fauzan Armar, guest player Ubada Barmawar, owner of the Fab 11 team Mohammed Ameen, icon player Nauman Tahira, guest player Ilyas Motiya, owner of Golte Sports Musaddiq Jilani, icon player Mohammed Waseem, guest player Nawar Kharuri, Hanif Warriors owner Abdul Salam Kola, icon player Shamoun Shabandari, guest player Mohammed Marwan Faqi Ahmada, owner of the Nawayat Arabian team Tauseeq Siddique, icon player Murtaza Barmawar, guest player Abdul Hameed Gawai, owner of Nawayat Cricketers Dubai Saifan, icon player Mohammed Mohtasim, guest player Ismail Khan, Seedar Abu Dhabi owner Bilal Siddique, icon player Nabeel Khan, guest player Mohammed Imran Kunnanguda, and Square Riders owner Qamar Barmawar, icon player Shammas, and guest player Sahil Sauda. Many other players and numerous cricket fans were also present.
It should be remembered that the first match of the AUZ T-20 cricket tournament will be played on October 26, while the final match of the tournament will be held on November 17.
