Karwar: The 23rd District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana is scheduled to take place at Mudaganapati Kalyan Mantap in Honnavar on December 27 and 28, as announced by Kannada Saahithya Parishat district president B N Vasare.

Dr Sripad Shetty, a renowned thinker, has been appointed as the President of the Sammelana.

During a press conference in Karwar on Tuesday, Vasare mentioned that it has been 25 years since Honnavar hosted a Sahitya Sammelana. Considering the desires of Kannada enthusiasts and writers, the decision to organize the literary festival in Honnavar was made.

The inaugural ceremony will witness the presence of senior writer Siddalinga Pattenshetti, who will also release six books on the occasion. The venue will be adorned with the names of distinguished personalities who have made significant contributions to literature.

On December 27, a session on 'Development of Uttara Kannada: Development & Diplomacy' will take place, followed by 'Kavi-Kavya,' featuring readings from 20 poets. The evening will culminate with a Yakshagana show.

The events on December 28 will include sessions on literature and limericks, leading up to the valedictory ceremony at 3:30 pm.
