Mangaluru: The Someshwara TMC polling on Wednesday transpired smoothly, recording a commendable voter turnout of 63.07 percent.
The highest voting percentage, standing at 78.19, was achieved at ward number 21, whereas the lowest turnout of 46.28 was observed at ward number 3.
Someshwara TMC comprises 23 wards with a total of 50 candidates vying for victory. The electorate consists of 22,502 voters, including 11,697 females. The BJP fielded candidates in all 23 wards, while the Congress has contestants in 22 wards.
Among the 23 wards, Lakshmigudde Prakashnagara boasts the lowest voter count of 642, while the 10th ward of Chethananagara recorded the highest with 1,494 voters.
