Mangaluru: Committees will be appointed at the state, district, and each Vidhan Sabha constituency level to oversee the implementation of guarantee schemes by the state government. Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President D.K. Shivakumar announced that the official order for this appointment will be issued within a week.
He made this announcement during the state-level convention of Congress workers at the preliminary meeting held at the District Congress office on Wednesday night.
Approximately 4 thousand individuals in the state will have the opportunity to be nominated for these positions. A directive has already been issued to the minister in charge of DK district in this regard. Shivakumar emphasized the need for individuals who actively engage with people at the grassroots level rather than prominent leaders. Those who visit households regularly will be entrusted with these responsibilities, he added.
The meeting was attended by KPCC Working President Salim Ahmed, AICC Secretary Rozi John, Niket Raj Maurya, District Congress President K Harish Kumar, Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, Legislative Council Member Dr. Manjunath Bhandari, former ministers B. Ramanath Rai, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, Abhay Chandra Jain, former Rajya Sabha member B. Ibrahim, former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, ex-VIP member Ivan de Soja, and party stalwarts Kanachur Monu, Ashok Kodavoor, Mithun Rai, Inayat Ali, Shashidhar Hegde, Mamata Gatti, Padmaraj R, and Gafoor Udupi.
