Mangaluru: Two individuals have been booked for attempting to assault government officials, including Tahsildar Prathvi Sanikam, in Mangaluru.

The incident occurred at Maddadka in Kuvettu village, Belthangady taluk, on Friday, where the accused allegedly hindered the officials from performing their duties and attempted to assault them.

Responding to a complaint filed by Tahsildar Prathvi Sanikam, the police initiated legal action against the duo. The allegations revolved around the encroachment of government land, prompting the Tahsildar, Revenue Inspector, and PDO to visit the site for a survey.

The accused had unlawfully encroached upon the land and obstructed the officials in carrying out their duties. They resorted to using offensive language against the officials and attempted to disturb the peace at the location.

A case has been registered under sections 353 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
