Mangaluru: A 38-year-old bank employee from Thiruvananthapuram was found dead in the swimming pool of a hotel in Mangaluru on Monday morning. 

The deceased has been identified as Gopu R. Nair.

According to the police, Nair had checked into the hotel on Monday at around 11am. He was in the city to attend a business conference. At around 4pm, he went for a swim in the pool. The police believe that he may have been under the influence of alcohol and lost control while swimming, resulting in his death.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras. 

The police have registered a case.
