Bhatkal: The Annual Day celebrations of New Shams School (ICSE), managed by Tarbiyat Education Society, honored its brightest students with the prestigious Najm-e-Ikhwan Gold Medal. Mohammed Azhaan Abdul Aziz Qadri was recognized as the best student among boys, while Faiha Fayyaz Ahmed Siddi Bapa received the award among girls. These medals are awarded annually to students excelling academically in grades 8, 9, and 10 and participating in various school activities.
The awards were presented during the Annual Day event held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The program's morning session, starting at 10 AM, featured Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani, the Qazi of Khalifa Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of education, recalling that the first command of Allah to mankind was to seek knowledge. He urged students to respect their teachers and implement Islamic teachings in their lives, creating a positive impact on society.
Another guest, Mr. Sadiq Pilloor, Vice President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal, lauded the institution's efforts. He highlighted that the school, established in 1971 to provide education aligned with Islamic values, has successfully achieved its mission of keeping the community's children rooted in their faith while excelling academically.
The program, presided over by Qadir Meeran Patel, commenced with a beautiful recitation by S. Hayyan, followed by a naat performance by Sameen and her group. Zia-ur-Rahman Ruknuddin welcomed the gathering, and the event was skillfully hosted by Syed Wasaf and Suman. A special vote of thanks was delivered by teacher Abdullah Rabeeh Khalifa. The young students also presented the school's anthem in a heartwarming performance. Principal Liaquat Ali, senior teacher Raza Manvi, and many other staff members attended the event. Mohammed Anzaf also delivered a brief speech, urging students to work harder and pay tribute to their teachers.
During the ceremony, teachers and staff members were recognized for their outstanding contributions, and a video showcasing the school's annual achievements was screened.
The second session began at 2 PM, featuring action songs by fourth-grade students, while the evening session included dramas, comedy performances, qawwali, songs, and an Islamic anthem with a pyramid action song. The event witnessed the participation of esteemed city dignitaries and a large audience, making the celebrations memorable and inspiring for the community.
