Bhatkal: The annual social gathering of New Shams School was celebrated on Saturday at Syed Ali Campus, Jamia Abad Road in Bhatkal. 

The prestigious school award, the "Najm-e-Ikwan" gold medal in the boys' category, was presented to Muhammed Zayyan Bengali S/o Zakariya Bengali.

The chief guest for the event was Fayyaz Kola, a Chartered Accountant from a renowned Qatar-based company. In his address, Kola emphasized the importance of cultivating time consciousness and punctuality, crucial virtues for success in life. 

The Guest of Honour, President of Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Ammar Kazia, highlighted the abundance of academic degrees in the contemporary era but stressed the importance of excelling in whatever field students choose. 

The program commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Syed Sarim and Hayyan. The Shams school anthem was sung by Jafar Aman SM and group, while Moulavi Abdus Subhan Ittal Nadvi welcomed, Prinicpal Liyaqat Ali presented the Annual School report and Raza Manvi delivered the vote of thanks.

On this occasion, meritorious students, cultural awardees, and sports achievers were honored with certificates and mementos. 

Mr. Ismail Mohtesham, President of Idara Tarbiat Ikwan, presided over the function.

NRI businessman Muhammad Yunus Kazia, Abdul Aleem Kazia, Qadir Meera Patel, former president of the New Shams School Board, Maulana Syed Zubair SM, President of Jamaat Islahi Hind Bhatkal, Syed Hassan Barmawar, Salahuddin SK, Hafiz Abdul Gani Ruknuddin and Mavalvi Azizur Rahman Nadvi and many others were present on the occasion.
