Abu Dhabi: Two children from Bhatkal, representing the Markaz Al Nawayat (MAN) Abu Dhabi, showcased their talent in the IIC Quran Recitation Competition, Season 3, organized by the Indian Islamic Center (IIC) in Abu Dhabi. Firdous, daughter of Aftab MJ, secured second place, while Abdullah, son of Ashraf Ali Musbah, advanced to the final round.
A press release from the MAN detailed that out of 260 participants who submitted video entries, a selected number moved on to the online round conducted via the Zoom application. The competition was divided into three categories: boys aged 12 to 20, girls aged 12 to 20, and adults over 20. From these, 20 candidates from each age category for boys and girls, and 18 from the adult category, reached the final round, including Firdous and Abdullah from the 12 to 20 years category, representing the boys and girls respectively.
Firdous's achievement has brought pride to her father, Mr. Aftab MJ, the General Secretary of MAN, and Abdullah's to his father, Mr. Ashraf Ali Musbah, the President of MAN. Community leader Mr. S M Syed Khalilur Rahman, along with the President of the Bhatkal Muslim Gulf Council, Mr. Farooq Musbah, Secretary-General Mr. Atiqur Rahman Muniri, MAN Vice President Atif Udayawar, former General Secretary Muhibullah Siddi Ahmada, Secretary Mudassir Jubapu, Joint Secretary Maulana Nauman Jukaku, Accountant Sameer Shirbadi, Treasurer Fuzail Musbah, and other members of the Jamaat, extended their congratulations to both children and their families.
