Bhatkal: Arman Gangavali, the son of Bhatkal's renowned cricketer and former captain of Cosmos Sports Center, Arshad Gangavali, has been selected for the Abu Dhabi Under 16 cricket team set to compete in the upcoming U-16 Inter-Emirates Cricket Tournament.
In a conversation with Sahil Online, team manager Andrew Russell mentioned that the selection process for UAE-based players is performance-driven, with the team comprising individuals from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and other nations, including Arman. He highlighted Arman's inclusion in the team owing to his outstanding all-round skills, excelling both in batting and bowling.
Arman, a 13-year-old currently in the eighth grade at Global Indian International School Abu Dhabi, honed his cricketing talents at Olkano Cricket Academy, eventually earning a spot in the Abu Dhabi team.
Various sports centers in Bhatkal, including Cosmos Sports Centre and Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, have expressed delight at Arman's selection. Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi, President of Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, along with numerous other members, extended congratulations to Arman and his father on this significant achievement. They wished him success in the upcoming matches, hoping he will bring glory to Bhatkal and India through his performances.
