Mangaluru: Dinesh Gundu Rao, the District-in-Charge Minister, expressed his firm instructions to the police and district administration to take decisive action against the drug menace prevailing in Dakshina Kannada district.
The minister called for a collaborative effort among the police, district administration, and educational institutions to effectively tackle the issue of drugs in the district. He stated, "During a leaders' meeting, concerns were raised about the rising drug menace, moral policing, and hooliganism, which are disrupting harmony in the district."
"I have been made aware that some lower-ranking police personnel are colluding with the drug mafia. We will put a stop to moral policing. The police have been instructed to adhere to the police manual and constitution," he added.
