Mangaluru: Eight outstanding individuals have been chosen to receive the prestigious 'Sandesha Awards 2024,' acknowledging their remarkable accomplishments in various fields. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 11 in Mangaluru.
Among the distinguished awardees are former vice-chancellor of Kannada University, Hampi, Prof B A Vivek Rai, and the Mangaluru-based NGO Jana Shikshana Trust. The event will be hosted at the Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education premises in Bajjodi.
The proceedings will be presided over by Sandesha Foundation President and Ballari Diocese Bishop Rev Fr Henry D'Souza, with Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva serving as the chief guest.
The recipients of the Sandesha Awards 2024 are as follows:
- Sandesha Literature Award (Kannada): Prof B A Viveka Rai
- Sandesha Literature Award (Konkani): Valerian Quadras
- Sandesha Literature Award (Tulu): Muddu Moodubele
- Sandesha Media Award: Abdussalam Puttige
- Sandesha Konkani Music Award: Alwyn Dcunha
- Sandesha Art Award: Chandranth Acharya
- Sandesha Education Award: Hucchamma
- Sandesha Special Award: Jana Shikshana Trust
