Udupi:  A 60-year-old woman, Maria Fernandes, lost her life in a collision between two cars at Mavinakatte. 

The incident occurred on the Karkala–Padubidri state highway when another car, speeding in the opposite direction, collided with the vehicle carrying Maria. 

Despite prompt hospital transfer, she succumbed enroute. 

Karkala Rural Police registered a case.
