Fisherman in Bhatkal loses Rs. 4.4 lakhs in mobile phone hacking scam

Bhatkal: A fishing boat owner in Bhatkal has reported to the police that unknown individuals stole Rs. 4,40,000 from his bank account through mobile phone hacking.

The victim, identified as Keshav Govinda Moger from Tengingundi, had opened a business account at the Canara Bank branch on Bundar Road. The incident occurred on May 10, as stated in the complaint lodged by Moger.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, and the investigation is currently ongoing under the supervision of CPI Chandan Gopal.
