Kundapur: Geeta Shivraj Kumar, the Congress candidate from the Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency, expressed her confidence in winning the upcoming election, stating, "I am confident that the people of the constituency will choose me this time. I have previously contested for Lok Sabha from this constituency and have remained deeply involved in social service even outside of elected office. I am dedicated to upholding the trust of the people."
Reflecting on the legacy of former Chief Minister S. Bangarappa, known for his philanthropy and dedication to public service, Geeta emphasized her intention to follow in his footsteps if elected, stating, "If I am entrusted with the responsibility, I will strive to continue my father's tradition of selfless service to the community."
Geeta's husband, film actor Shivraj Kumar, affirmed her commitment to the election despite other commitments, stating, "Despite my ongoing film projects, I will support Geeta's campaign to the best of my ability. She possesses the determination to achieve her goals."
Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa highlighted the Congress party's commitment to inclusive governance, stating, "Congress has always upheld the principles of inclusivity and social justice. Our party has extended welfare guarantees to all eligible citizens of the state."
Madhu Bangarappa also criticized the BJP's approach of invoking religious sentiments for political gain, stating, "Unlike the BJP, Congress has never resorted to exploiting religious sentiments for electoral advantage, and we never will."
The speakers praised the leadership of former Chief Minister Bangarappa and highlighted Geeta Shivraj Kumar's dedication to serving the underprivileged without monetary incentives. They urged voters to recognize her commitment and support her candidacy for the Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency.
