Udupi: A 23-year-old man died after falling into an overflowing waterfall near Kollur in Byndoor taluk of Udupi district on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Sharath Kumar from Shivamogga district.

Kumar was visiting the Arashinagundi Falls with his friends when he slipped and fell into the water. The incident was caught on video, which shows Kumar posing on a rock near the falls before he slips and falls into the water.

The video has gone viral on social media, and it has sparked a debate about the dangers of taking selfies and making videos at waterfalls.

Efforts to find Kumar's body continue in the search and rescue operations.
