Bhatkal: Karnataka’s 360-kilometer-long coastline, renowned for its natural beauty, must be promoted globally, said Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. After enjoying a boat ride in the Murdeshwar Sea and experiencing the morning waves on Friday, Shivakumar addressed media persons in Murdeshwar, highlighting the need to further develop the region’s scenic attractions and improve tourism infrastructure.
“Beaches like Murdeshwar and Gokarna are superior to Goa’s beaches, yet they require greater development to reach their full potential. A new tourism policy is being formulated to enhance the coastal tourism sector, and suggestions are being sought to make this a reality,” Shivakumar remarked.
He further noted that efforts are underway to attract investors to the coastal region to create more employment opportunities for the local youth. "There is a need for large-scale industrial growth here, which can only happen with good investments. This will help the youth acquire better skills and knowledge, paving the way for increased job opportunities," he added.
District in-charge Minister Mankal Vaidya and MCA Chairman Satish Sail were also present on the occasion.
