Mangaluru: A speeding motorcycle struck and fatally injured a young school student near Ujire on Friday.

The victim, an 8-year-old girl named Ankita, was a third-grade student. She was the daughter of Ashoka and Jayashree.

The accident happened as Ankita was crossing the road.

A case had been registered Beltangady police station.
