Bhatkal Celebrates 77th Independence Day with Zeal and Patriotism

Bhatkal: Bhatkal observed its 77th Independence Day with enthusiasm as the taluk administration hosted the national flag and organized a vibrant student procession at Taluka stadium (YMSA Ground), Bhatkal on Tuesday.

Assistant Commissioner Dr. Nayana N. had the hoisted the flag and received guard of Honour.

In her address, she underscored the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation's freedom fighters. Dr. Nayana also highlighted the remarkable advancements India has achieved in the past 77 years, particularly in areas such as technology, sports, education, finance, and infrastructure. The Indian army's unwavering strength and commitment were also commended.

The event featured a special felicitation of five ex-servicemen and five ex-servicewomen. Additionally, students who achieved the highest scores in SSLC examinations in Kannada, English, and Urdu mediums were honored.

Recognition was extended to the top-performing teams in the captivating processions, as well as to the Hescom staff responsible for adorning the city with dazzling electric lights.

Students who secured the first, second, and third positions in speech and poster preparation competitions received well-deserved prizes.

Tahsildar Thippiswamy, BEO V.D. Moger, DYSP Srikanth, Municipal Chief Officer Suresh, Taluka Panchayat Executive Officer Prabhakar Chikkanamane, Jali Panchayat Chief Officer Manjappa, Bhatkal Municipal Standing Committee Chairman Abdul Azeem, President of the Government Employees Union Mohan Naik, and several others were present.
