Bhatkal: Dr. Savita Kamat, the Medical Officer of Bhatkal Taluk serving at Bhatkal Government Hospital, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to healthcare by being awarded the Chief Minister's medal.

The transformative power of collaborative efforts in improving community health can be seen through the remarkable work of Dr. Savitha Kamath, the administrative head of Bhatkal taluk government hospital.

Previously plagued with challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, dilapidated buildings, unhygienic conditions, and a shortage of healthcare personnel, the Bhatkal government hospital in Uttara Kannada district has undergone a remarkable transformation under Dr. Savitha's dedicated leadership.

Her relentless endeavors have elevated the Bhatkal Government Hospital to a level that surpasses many private healthcare facilities. In recognition of her accomplishments, Dr. Savita received the prestigious award during a ceremony commemorating Doctors' Day in Bengaluru on Saturday.

As an anaesthetist, Dr. Savita actively participates in approximately seven to eight surgeries each day, making her the deserving recipient of the Best Anaesthetist award.

The event was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Family and Health Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundurao, Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad, former Legislative Council Chief Whip Prakash Rathore, Department Secretary Anil Kumar, and numerous other dignitaries.
