Mangaluru (TNN): The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee’s decision to field G Krishnappa, from Sullia reserved constituency in Dakshina Kananda, has left a section of the followers of another seat aspirant, HM Nandakumar, upset.

After a couple of dissidence meetings held recently, Congress workers arrived in buses and protested before the District Congress Committee office in Mangaluru on Wednesday.

Hundreds of party workers participated in the protest demonstration and demanded that the party replace the Sullia candidate G Krishnappa with HM Nandakumar. Party workers from Sullia and Kadaba regions arrived in more than 10 buses.

The workers urged the party leadership to reconsider its decision to field Krishnappa stating that he is an outsider to the constituency. According to them, though Krishnappa was appointed as KPCC co-ordinator of Sullia Block Congress sometime back, he was hardly found in the constituency.
