Dengue Awareness Program Held at Anjuman Arts Science Commerce College and PG Centre, Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Anjuman Arts Science Commerce College and PG Centre organized a Dengue Awareness Program on Thursday at college function hall. The program was organized by the Student Welfare Wing and witnessed the participation of approximately 150 students.

The event featured two distinguished guests of honor, Dr. Savita Kamath, the Chief Health Officer at Taluka Hospital, Bhatkal, and Mr. Neel Mestha, Chief Officer at the Town Municipal Corporation. Professor Ganim, the Student Welfare Officer, served as the host and extended a warm welcome to the guests. He also introduced the esteemed guests.

Chief Guest, Taluka Health Officer Bhatkal Dr. Savita Kamath delivered an informative address, providing detailed insights into the causes of Dengue and explaining the various stages of the disease. Her presentation shed light on the seriousness of the illness and the importance of early diagnosis and timely medical intervention.

Guest of Honour, Chief Officer of Town Municipal Council Mr. Neelkand Mestha emphasized the role of responsible citizenship in Dengue prevention. He stressed the significance of maintaining cleanliness both inside and outside our homes, avoiding water accumulation, and refraining from littering the streets. His practical advice resonated with the audience, highlighting the importance of community involvement in Dengue control.

The program also included a Q&A session, allowing students to interact with the guest speakers, seek clarification, and gain a deeper understanding of Dengue related issues.

The concluding part of the program featured a presidential address by the college's Principal, Professor Mushtaque K. Shaikh. He commended the efforts of the Student Welfare Wing in organizing such an essential awareness program.

Dr. R.S. Nayak, Prof Ganim Mohtisham, Prof BH Nadaf were present on the dais.
