Deputy Commissioner Flags Off Jana Jagrithi Yatra in Dakshina Kannada to Combat Child Labour

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan  flagged off a Jana Jagrithi Yatra as a crucial initiative within the Child Labour Rescue Campaign.

The campaign is a collaborative effort between the District Administration, District Legal Services Authority, Labour Department, and District Bala Karmika Yojana Sangha.

Speaking at the launch event, Deputy Commissioner Muhilan underscored the urgency of eradicating child labor and called upon all departments to work together towards this goal. He emphasized the detrimental impact of child labor on children's physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Assistant Commissioner of Bala Karmika Yojana Sangha, Shivakumar, highlighted that the Jana Jagrithi Campaign vehicle would traverse the district for nine days, actively raising awareness among the public.

Shobha B G, Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, emphasized the importance of community involvement in the fight against child labor. She urged citizens to be vigilant and report any suspected cases of child labor to the authorities.

The Child Labour Rescue Campaign is a significant step towards creating a child-labor-free Dakshina Kannada.
