Udupi: A fisherman lost his life after accidentally falling into the sea near Maravante in Gangolli on Saturday. 

The deceased, identified as Shankara (62) from Maravante village, slipped and fell into the sea while pulling the net back onto the boat. 

Despite immediate efforts to rescue him, Shankara was seriously unwell. He was swiftly brought to Kundapur Government Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead upon examination. 

A case has been registered at Gangolli police station.
