District Minister Launches Gruha Jyothi Scheme In Karwar

Karwar: During the elections, five guaranteed schemes were announced to benefit the underprivileged and common people of the state and  that the guaranteed schemes have been implemented as promised said Mankal S Vaidya, District In-charge and Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport.

He made these statements while inaugurating the "Gruha Jyothi" scheme at the police welfare hall in Karwar on Saturday, where zero electricity bills were distributed to the beneficiaries.

This scheme aims to support children's education and provide assistance to poor families, and the Minister urged the public to take advantage of it.

According to the Gruha Jyothi Yojana, up to 200 units of free electricity will be provided. If a household consumes more than 200 units, they will be billed for the entire consumption, the Minister explained.

He emphasized that the government has fulfilled its election promises by implementing the "Gruha Jyothi" scheme and assured that other guaranteed schemes like Gruha Lakshmi Scheme and Yuva Nidhi Scheme will be launched soon.

In the district, 3,26,978 customers have already registered under the Gruha Jyothi Yojana and will benefit from this initiative. The Minister also mentioned that development programs will be carried out alongside the implementation of guaranteed projects in the coming days.

Present at the event were MLA Bhimanna, MLA Satish Sail, Uttara Kannada DC Gangubai, SP Vishnuvardhan, CEO Ishwara Kumar, HESCOM Engineer Deepaka B Kamath, and many others.
