HAVERI(TNN): Labour and Haveri district minister Shivaram Hebbar predicted that the model code of conduct for the Karnataka assembly election may be declared by March 27.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, the minister recalled that the Election Commission declared the code of conduct on March 26, 2018, in the previous assembly election and May 13 polling was held. Finally, a new government was formed on May 23. This time model code of conduct may be declared between March 27-29, he said.
“Channagiri legislator Madal K Virupakshappa’s graft incident is not an embarrassment to the BJP and its not an evidence for 40 per cent commission allegations of the opposition. Moreover, it’s not fair to accuse the BJP because of this incident,” Hebbar added. Taunting AICC leader Randeep Singh Surjewala and former CM Siddaramaiah, he said that they should introspect before talking about others.
