Karwar: Bike rally held to sensitise people on voting

Karwar (DHNS): A bike rally was taken out in the City by District SVEEP Committee to create awareness among the people on voting. The officials on bikes passed through the main roads.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ishwar Kandoo, probationary IAS officer Jubin Mahapatra, Assistant Commissioner Jayalakshmi Rayakod, and other senior officials participated in the rally. They tried to create awareness on free and fair voting, and the provision of postal ballot provided to senior citizens and disabled people. 

Deputy Commissioner Prabhuling Kavalikatti, who flagged the bike rally in his office’s premises said, the district administration has made all preparations to conduct a free and fair election, and to create awareness among the people on voting. From Gram Panchayat-level to the district-level, SVEEP activities are being conducted effectively, he said.

Different programmes

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ishwar Kandoo said, to sensitise the people on voting, different programmes have been organised in fairs, yakshagana meets, and markets.
