Kundapur: A case of deceit has come to light where miscreants duped a woman of Rs 1.6 lakh by luring her with a false promise of a part-time online job.

The victim, identified as Shwetha (35), received a WhatsApp message from unidentified fraudsters who presented the details of the purported job. 

Subsequently, they sent multiple links and tasks to be completed, eventually coaxing Shwetha to remit money for these assignments. Over a period of time, they managed to extract Rs 1.63 lakh from her, without delivering the promised job or refunding the remitted amount.

A case has filed at Kundapur rural police station.
