Kundapur: A tragic incident unfolded in Basrur on Wednesday, resulting in the death of an elderly man who was severely injured in a bee attack.

The deceased had been identified as Jagjeevan (76), a resident of Basrur bus stand, passed away without receiving treatment.

On Tuesday evening, while returning home near Basrur bus stand, Jagjeevan was attacked by a swarm of bees. The attack was triggered when a bird disturbed a hive near the bus stop, leading the bees to target Jagjeevan, who happened to be passing by. His face, body, hands, and feet suffered severe swelling and injuries due to the simultaneous assault by hundreds of bees.

After initial treatment at a private hospital in Kundapur, Jagjeevan was transferred to Manipal Hospital for further medical attention. Unfortunately, despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning.
