Mangaluru: Karnataka's Lokayukta Vows Speedy Disposal of Public Grievances

Mangaluru: Karnataka's Lokayukta, Justice B S Patil, tackled critical issues during a review meeting held at Zilla Panchayat Hall, Mangaluru on saturday.

Justice B S Patil acknowledged 16,000 pending cases and attributed the surge to rising public awareness, with 8,000 new complaints yearly. He assured swift action on a MUDA approval delay complaint and stressed training investigators to boost conviction rates. Despite 600-700 vacancies, Patil affirmed efficient investigations and spot checks. He urged Dakshina Kannada officials to crack down on building rule violations and promote scientific waste management by ULBs and gram panchayats. 

Deputy Commissioner M.P. Mullai Muhilan, Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, Superintendent of Police C.B. Ryshyanth, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K. Anandh, Deputy Conservator of Forest Anthony S. Mariyappa, and Lokayukta Police Superintendent of Police C.A. Simon were present during the review meeting.
