Udupi: Lokayukta authorities apprehended Ramesh Badiger (28), a Mescom lineman, on Tuesday. 

The arrest was made after Ramesh was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000.

The bribe was allegedly in exchange for disconnecting a power line and cutting down a tree in Byndoor. 

The arrest came after a complaint was filed by a resident with the Lokayukta police, accusing Ramesh of demanding the bribe.
