Mangaluru: Two person hailing from Mangaluru, identified as Ashoka (34) from Baikampady and Sachin (34) from Dambel, have been arrested by the Bantwal Police.

They are facing charges related to the snatching incident involving the lady owner of a grocery shop located at Ajjibettu in B C Road.

The duo executed their crime by posing as customers, entering the shop under the guise of making a purchase. Seizing an opportune moment, they forcefully snatched the gold chain from the shop owner, Sarojini, while she was leaning towards the cash drawer to retrieve change. Notably, both perpetrators took measures to conceal their identities by donning helmets during the commission of the crime.
