Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan visited the site of a tragic landslide incident in Nandavara, Sajipamunnuru, Bantwal taluk.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation, express condolences to the affected family, and provide necessary support.

The Deputy Commissioner announced a compensation of Rs 1.2 lakhs for the repair of the damaged house, aiming to assist the family in their recovery. Precautionary measures were also emphasized to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The incident resulted in the unfortunate loss of Zarina, a 48-year-old woman, while her daughter Shafa was successfully rescued from the debris. The visit demonstrates the government's commitment to assisting those affected by natural disasters.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Tahsildar S V Koodalagi, TP Executive Officer Ranjana, PDO Lakshman, and other officials.
