Mangaluru: A tragic incident unfolded as a man, identified as Yash Raj Suvarna (43), lost his life in a hotel room near Bendur Well in the city due to a fire on Wednesday night.

Yash Raj had been staying in the hotel room since November 15. Around midnight after having dinner, the lodge staff noticed smoke emanating from the door of his room. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade personnel rushed to the scene and, after gaining access to the locked room, discovered Yash Raj deceased.

Yash Raj was alone in the room at the time of the incident.

The cause of the death and the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Police are investigating the case.
