Mangaluru: The Barke police arrested four people on Tuesday for selling banned e-cigarettes and foreign cigarettes without warning labels on Tuesday.

The arrested persons are Swathi (26), Shiva Deshakodi (34), Sharief (50) and Rehamathulla (45).

The police raided three stores in a shopping complex in Lalbagh and seized e-cigarettes and foreign cigarettes worth Rs 2.7 lakh. 

The accused have been booked under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act 2019, the Cotpa Act 2003, and the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Packaging and Labelling Rules 2020).
