Mangaluru: Controversy surrounds the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) competitive exams held at Balmatta Government Women’s PU College, where students were reportedly tasked with frisking candidates for the position of Accounts Assistants in the State Audits and Accounts Department.

This incident, causing an uproar, occurred despite KPSC directives for stringent security measures, including the use of metal detectors, mobile jammers, biometric face detection, and body cameras.

Allegedly, candidates managed to enter without proper inspection, raising concerns about the effectiveness of security protocols.

The KPSC had previously appointed an agency through a tender for examination center security. Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has assured a thorough investigation into the matter, vowing suitable action in response to the lapse in security procedures.

This incident highlights the need for accountability and adherence to prescribed security measures in conducting competitive exams to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
