Mangaluru: Two students, Yaswith and Yuvaraj, both 17 and studying in Parijnana College, Someshwara, drowned at Someshwara beach on Saturday.

According to sources, the incident occurred when a group of six students had visited the Someshwar Somanatha temple.

They were swept away by strong currents while exploring the beach after their temple visit.

Despite the efforts of expert swimmers and the fire and emergency services, they were unable to rescue the students.
