Karwar: District in-charge minister Mankal Vaidya has assured that the allocation for the development of super specialty treatment facilities at Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences (KRIMS) will not be hindered by financial constraints.

Vaidya chaired a meeting at KRIMS in Karwar earlier today, addressing the persistent public demand for a super specialty hospital in the district. He emphasized the government's commitment to this cause and disclosed plans for the establishment of a state-of-the-art MRI scanning machine, already approved by the Cabinet.

The construction of a 450-bed facility is on track for completion within the next two months, with a separate trauma care center building in the pipeline. Vaidya affirmed the government's commitment to equip the facility with all necessary medical apparatus.

In response to challenges faced by KRIMS, leading to patients seeking care in hospitals in Mangalore and other areas, Vaidya mentioned the disbursement of 29.14 crores under the Asha Kiran Yojana. This initiative aims to facilitate eye examinations and provide spectacles to the public across four districts, including Uttara Kannada district.

In light of the discussions concerning various issues and demands within the hospital, Vaidya urged officials, doctors, and the Minister to collaborate closely to ensure quality healthcare services for the public.
