Minister Vaidya Calls for Permanent Solution to Sea Erosion

Udupi: Mankal Vaidya, the Minister for Fisheries, Ports, Inland Water, and Transport, emphasized the state government's commitment to addressing the needs of fishermen during his visit to sea erosion-affected areas in Kodi. 

Vaidya emphasized the seriousness of the sea erosion issue, spanning from Kasargod to Karwar, and stated that providing temporary relief is insufficient. To address this pressing concern, an expert committee has been established to find a permanent solution. The minister clarified that if temporary relief is necessary, it will be considered after thorough discussions.

While the state government is making efforts to mitigate sea erosion, Vaidya said need for assistance from the central government to tackle the issue comprehensively. 

The minister warned that without a permanent resolution, the situation could become increasingly challenging in the future. The government is committed to supporting the affected communities, particularly in Kodi and Mulur areas.
