Mangaluru: A Nepali teenager named Nisha drowned at Chitrapur beach near Suratkal, while five of her schoolmates were rescued on Thursday. 

Nisha and the other students, Diganta (15), Divyaraj (15), Tejas (14), Keerthan (16), and Ashmitha (15), had ventured into the water to play, but were swept away by strong currents. 

Nearby fishermen and locals came to their rescue, but Nisha could not be saved. Tejas was admitted to a nearby hospital for further treatment, while the other four students were in good health.
