Mundgod: A 39-year-old Panchayat Development Officer (PDO), Ramalingesh Shivalingappa Kalasgeri, hailing from Ranebennur in Haveri district, took his own life by hanging from a tree on the outskirts of Sanavalli village in Mundgod taluk on Monday.

Kalasgeri, who served as the PDO for Honnatthi gram panchayat, succumbed to the burden of debt, leaving his family devastated. 

A case has been registered at Mundgod Police station.
