Mangaluru: In response to the ongoing heavy rainfall in Dakshina Kannada, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has announced the closure of schools and colleges in Mangaluru, Mulki, Ullal, Moodbidri, and Bantwal taluks on Tuesday.

The district has been experiencing relentless downpours since Monday, resulting in the submersion of low-lying areas. 

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of continued heavy rainfall in the coastal districts until July 5.
