Bhatkal: In charge Minister Mankal Vaidya has warned that he will conduct surprise inspections of government offices and take action against officials if files are not cleared and people complain that work has not been done.

He was speaking at the quarterly KDP meeting held at the Taluk Panchayat Hall in Bhatkal.

Health Officer Dr. Savita Kamath said that shifting the Konar primary health center to Kuntavani or Marukeri would benefit the people. She also said that Ayurvedic medicine is not being supplied to the government hospital and arrangements should be made to do so.

The minister instructed Hescom officials not to cut power in the Bhatkal constituency for any reason. He also said that buses should be operated without causing any inconvenience to students and women.

The minister was not satisfied with the reply given by the Assistant Director of Horticulture H.M. Bilagi and expelled him from the meeting.

The minister expressed his displeasure over the non-distribution of ration cards for the past three years and asked the tahsildars to address the issue.

He also expressed his concern over the increasing cases of consumption of ganja, drugs, and opium in Bhatkal and asked DySP Srikanta to take strict action.

AC Dr. Nayana, Tahsildar Thippeswamy, DySP Srikant, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Prabhakar Chikkanamane and other officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
