Udupi DC Vows Tourist Safety, Appoints Lifeguards at Malpe, Maravante, Kapu and Trasi Beaches

Udupi: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidyakumari has announced the appointment of lifeguards at popular coastal destinations, including Malpe, Maravante, Kapu, and Thrasi beaches. 

Seventeen lifeguards have completed the initial training phase and will soon assume their roles. The move aims to enhance tourist safety and prevent untoward incidents in the region. 

Dr. Vidyakumari emphasized the district administration's commitment to ensuring a trouble-free experience for tourists, underscoring the importance of developing basic amenities at these tourist spots. 

MLA Yashpal Suvarna commended the initiative, noting that the lifeguard team's expertise will play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring visitor safety.

 The picturesque Malpe beach, witnessing a surge in visitors, is set for comprehensive development with a master plan underway. 

The training, provided by the Varanasi Development and Research Foundation in Puttur, included vital skills such as swimming, artificial respiration, and first aid, with certificates distributed during a recent ceremony.
