Udupi Lawyers Demand Action Against Assaulting Officers

Udupi: A protest was held infront of the Udupi Court on Tuesday, organized by the Udupi Lawyers' Association to denounce the recent police assault on young lawyer Pritam from Chikkamagaluru.

Addressing the gathering, Reynolds Praveen Kumar, President of the Advocates Association, condemned the police brutality against lawyers, emphasizing the recurring nature of such incidents. He called for the prompt implementation of the Lawyers' Protection Act by the government to curb such violence. Additionally, he demanded stringent action against the police officer and staff responsible for the brutal assault on the lawyer, urging the withdrawal of the false case registered against him.

Senior Advocate and Former President of the Association A. Sanjeeva, General Secretary Rajesh A.R., Senior Advocate Anand Madiwala, and Advocates Amritakala, Soumya, Asadullah Katpad and many others were present.
